LOCAL INFORMATION
Steeped in history Salobreña dates back to the 10th century. With an ancient Moorish castle built 105m above sea level Salobreña is a town where the old traditional Spain meets the new. The old town built underneath the castle is a labyrinth of pretty narrow streets, with white washed houses decorated with colourful floral displays. The new part of the town has wide well landscaped roads, with a variety of houses and apartments.
It benefits from a long, wide beach where water sports can be found. Conditions for snorkelling and diving are excellent with a recently built reef off the Peñon rock encouraging vast arrays of sealife.
A mixture of old and new bars and restaurants offering an assortment of cuisine can be located throughout Salobreña town together with shops and supermarkets to cater for your every need.
Deep sea fishing, mountain biking, walking tours, golf and many other activities can be found close by.
