The Mountainous countryside of Serrania de Ronda is strategically
placed in the center of Andalusia, to the south of the
Iberian Peninsula, and covers 1,536 km2 and is home to more than twenty
pretty white Andalucian villages.
Historically the region of the Serrania de Ronda was isolated from the
southern coastline of the Costa del Sol due to the difficulties to
access the region by road but due to recent investments in the local
infrastructure this has improved tremendously making the mountainous
countryside of Serrania de Ronda a tourist destination of exception
marked by the beauty of the landscape and the genuineness of the
traditional highland culture.
Within the Serrania de Ronda are 3 valleys; the valley of the Guadalteba in the northern part, the valley of the Guadiaro to the
southwest and the Genal Valley to the southeast. In the center, there
is a plateau where you will find the city of Ronda which links the
three valleys. To the north the Serrania de Ronda is protected by
Grazalema Nature Park, one of the most important nature reserves in
Spain.
Between the 3 valleys of the Serrania de Ronda you will find a fabulous
diversity of beautiful countryside with authentic natural jewels to be
seen such as the Spanish fir, golden eagles, tawny vultures and much,
much more. There is also infinite possibilities of leisure activities
available, hiking, climbing, cycling, bird watching, horseriding to
mention but a few are all provided by experienced local guides and
companies.
There is a wealth of bars, restaurants and hotels offering the local
cuisine of traditional delicacies, with genuine flavors made from
locally produced food and recipes that have been passed down for
generations.
To visit the Serrania de Ronda is an invitation to meet with the past,
the pretty villages dotted throughout the region are host to a
multitude of castles, watchtowers, palaces, Arabic baths and Roman
theatres.

and gastronomic delights that gives it a very special and individual
