This pretty two bedroom holiday rental village house is situated in the traditional Spanish village of Guajar Faraquit which is nestled in the spectacular countryside that surrounds the Los Guajares region.  Faraquit village is the perfect holiday location for bird watching, hiking, pony trekking skiing and many other adventure activities that can be found locally. The bustling coastal towns of Motril and Salobrena, and the Sierra Nevada ski resort are a short drive away.

Located amongst some of the most breath taking countryside of this region, Faraquit is part of a set of 3 villages known as Los Guajars.  Steeped in history these pretty villages with their narrow streets and white washed houses appear to have stood still in time.  Faraquit benefits from a selection of village shops, and a traditional tapas bar and restaurant. Further shops, tapas bars and restaurants can be found in the neighbouring village of Guajar Alto.

Salobrena

Situated by the shores of the Mediterranean, and guarded by a 10th century Moorish castle, Salobreña is an enchanting town.  Offering the best of both worlds with the old town perched on top of a hill, adorned with white washed village houses and narrow flower filled streets, together with the clean, modern and well landscaped new town.

Salobreña has an excellent cross section of traditional tapas bars and restaurants, or if you prefer to eat at home, there is a good variety of shops and supermarkets doted around the town.  Throughout the summer Salobreña hosts many events and fiestas ranging from Jazz concerts, flamenco dancing, theatre productions, fun fairs and bull fights.

The beach is long and wide and offers many adventure activities.  A well landscaped promenade with bars and restaurants make it easy to chill out after a long day in the sun.

The Los Moriscos golf club lies along the coast between Salobreña and Motril for golf fans, with quad bike safaris, bike hire, deep sea fishing to name a few ventures available.

Velez de Benaudalla

Velez de Benaudalla is a pretty traditional whitewashed Spanish village nestled in the foot hills of the Las Alpujarras.  Surrounded by spectacular countryside Velez is perfectly located with easy access to the Costa Tropical coast, Sierra Nevada ski resort and the beautiful city of Granada where the amazing Alhambra Palace can be found.

Velez is steeped in history, and you can wander through the ancient streets to the recently restored XVI century Ulloa Muslim castle or look at the Casa Jardin Nazari, which was inspired by Grenada architure and is generally considered to be the finest example of Hispanic-Muslim gardens in Spain. 

There are also a good choice of shops, bars and restaurants dotted throughout the town, together with a pharmacy and a doctors surgery. A wide variety of adventure activities can be found locally too.

TRAVEL

Guajar Faraquit is located 25 minutes inland from the town of Motril and Mediterranean coast of the Costa Tropical.  From Motril there is excellent road and motorway access and is serviced by Malaga, Granada and Almeria airports. The City of Granada is approximately 30 minutes away by car.  There is also an international airport at Granada.
