The International Club of Nerja |
The The International Club of Nerja is situated in Calle San Juan 42 in the old part of Nerja and we are a social
club where people can come and meet old friends or make new ones.
We meet in
our own club premises on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning from 10.30am
to 1.30pm. Our membership fees are €15 from January to December and this fee
gives you access to our superb library with over 3000 books, with new ones being
purchased several times a year. We also have a subsidised bar where you can
purchase drinks or coffee and your fee gives you a discount on all our trips and
social events.
Coach trips are organised throughout the year and our evening
social events include our very popular quiz night, singers who entertain and
patrons can have a ´bop´, a regular games night where you can play board games
or cards or darts and many other evenings of good fun and interest.
We are mainly English
speaking although we do have some Germans who come for a couple of months a year
and speak only German. If you´re a social animal or if youre a bit lonely and looking for
company then we do our best to give you a warm welcome and introduce you to
other members, or perhaps you´d just like to come and use the library then sit
with a coffee reading our free newspapers. The choice is yours and many members
have different methods of using us so there´s no pressure to be the life and
soul, its just a place for you to use as you want. If you have visitors and you
want to bring them along then they are welcome once signed in and on payment of
€1.
We have 300 members with ages starting from about 50 years up to our two
oldest members who are 95 and wonderful. If you´d like to come along and see us
then pop in, have a coffee and get a feel for the place, you will be very welcome.
